We’re delighted to announce that Libby Hughes from The Northern School of Art is the winner of our 2025 Christmas Window Design Competition!
Earlier this year, we invited students to create a festive concept for our iconic gallery window, and the level of creativity was outstanding.
Libby’s beautiful design, inspired by the much-loved artwork of Mackenzie, stood out from an incredible range of submissions. After bringing her vision to life, her installation also won the Duck Club Children’s Christmas Window Trophy — made even more special because the votes come entirely from local children.
To celebrate, Mackenzie will personally present Libby with a £500 prize during his annual Christmas show at Arthaus Gallery this Saturday 6th December. As Mackenzie said:
”It’s wonderful to see young talent thriving. Libby’s work captured the magic of Christmas beautifully, and it’s a privilege to recognise her achievement.”
