The day we bought the Golden Sheep.
My husband and I had seen the original a couple of months earlier prior to purchasing it and were very enthusiastic about buying it, but at that time we were told it wasn't for sale
Later, on a day out to Richmond with my sister and her daughter we decided to visit the Art Haus Gallery and see an exhibition, which was being held there. Whilst looking at the exhibits I noticed the Golden Sheep on an easel.
As soon as I saw it I asked if it was the original and was it still for sale.
I was very excited, spoke to Wendy and hastily agreed to buy it. I tried to contact my husband to tell him what I had done but couldn't reach him, so I still, although apprehensive, went ahead with the purchase.
Wendy then told me of how she nearly lost the painting a couple of times and I told her that it was going to a good home and would be well looked after.
We are thrilled to have the original; it has pride of place in our home and always will. What has made it extra special is that when Mackenzie came to England to promote his Meaning of Life exhibition we saw him and he signed the painting on the back for us.
